Hamas Forces Said To Kill 32 Members Of Gaza ‘Gang’ Since Start Of Ceasefire

Hamas started an extensive operation right after the ceasefire took effect in Gaza City.  The move is part of the Israel-Gaza peace process. Palestinian security sources stated that “Hamas forces have killed 32 members of ‘a gang’ in Gaza City in a security campaign launched after a ceasefire came into effect on Friday.”

The MSN news reported that “The operation targeted members of a ‘dangerous gang affiliated with a family in Gaza City’… 24 people were arrested and 30 others wounded.”

Ceasefire and Peace Context

According to GivFact, “Israel and Hamas agreed in early October 2025 to the first phase of a U.S.-brokered peace plan… the deal promised an immediate halt to fighting, the release of hostages, and a surge of humanitarian aid.”

Along with the U.S, the other countries, including Qatar, Egypt, etc, also contributed to this ceasefire to end the two-year consistent battle between Israel and Gaza. The deal was brokered on the immediate cessation of hostilities, access to unrestricted humanitarian aid to Gaza, and a structured framework for reconstruction and governance.

At the event, U.S. President Mr. Trump stated that “They wanted to stop the problems, and we gave them approval for a period of time”. The U.S demands a complete disarmament of Hamas, considering it as a broader peace plan.

Reporting on the recent event, CNBC stated that “The ceasefire agreement in Gaza came into effect from 12 p.m. local time… with troops pulling back from some parts of the enclave under the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan.”

Hamas’s Statement and Justification

Hamas’s Statement and Justification

According to Daily Post, “The Hamas-run Interior Ministry has deployed security forces… to prevent a security vacuum that would be filled by lawlessness and looting.”

The operation’s core purpose is to restore public order and trust while ensuring a smooth distribution of aid throughout Gaza. The gang was caught exploiting the ceasefire chaos and looting the common people.

This operation is highly crucial in a political lens as well because if not controlled, multiple rival factions or militias will gain influence and ruin the peace between both states. Through this operation, Hamas emphasized its role as the only stability protector of Gaza.

According to Times of Israel, “The operation was necessary to stop theft of relief goods and restore civil order.”

Implications for Peace Process

U.S. President Donald Trump aboard Air Force One via Al Arabiya, “They do want to stop the problems, and they’ve been open about it, and we gave them approval for a period of time.” According to The Print, “Hamas must disarm and end its rule of Gaza under Trump’s proposal for ending the war.”

This crackdown will position Hamas as a strong government that can maintain law and order in Gaza. However, analysts are divided in their opinions on this move. Some say it’s a critical step and appreciating hams, while others are raising human rights concerns.
