Heart Surgeon With 25 Years Of Experience Debunks Claim That Eggs Are Bad For Everyone, Shares Real Reason He Eats Eggs

A heart surgeon, with 25 years of medical experience, claimed that eggs pose no dietary concerns. For many years, people have developed the concept that regular egg intake brings heart disease. Due to this misconception, doctors often advise heart patients to avoid eggs. Surgeons and cardiologists were advising patients to manage cholesterol by avoiding eggs. However, the wrong concept will not work on such patients. Dr Philip Ovadia stated, “We’ve been misled by decades of flawed dietary advice. It’s time to rethink what truly supports heart health.”

What 25 Years of Surgical Practice Reveals

Dr. Philip Ovidia personally experienced obesity. He recently shared his experience of eating eggs regularly. In his arguments about eggs, he briefly explained that the concept that eggs are bad has been oversimplified. 

He further added that Heart disease is not caused by eating eggs. It’s caused by poor metabolic health.” People with heart disease or high cholesterol face restrictions. In his latest discussion, he claimed that heart issues are entirely due to our metabolic problems. 

He declined the idea that eggs are bad for heart health. He emphasized, “Fix your metabolic health. That’s how you stay off my operating table.”

What Eggs Actually Offer?

Mayo Clinic states, “The cholesterol in eggs doesn’t seem to raise cholesterol levels the way some other foods, such as those high in trans fats and saturated fats, do.”

Instead of focusing on side effects, Dr. Ovadia focused on the health benefits of eggs. The nutrients in eggs help repair our body’s damaged tissues. Diet planners also include them in charts to reduce weight, as their filling nature helps prevent hunger. Dr. Ovadia highly promoted the use of eggs to keep the heart healthy. 

According to Harvard Health, “For most people, an egg a day does not increase their risk of a heart attack, a stroke, or any other type of cardiovascular disease.” 

Dr further said, “Eggs are nutrient-dense and provide high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals that support overall health.” However, it does not mean to ignore all remaining diets. He focused on integrating them with other healthy factors. 

What the Public Needs to Understand?

The narrative “eggs are bad” does not explain their nutritional value or benefits. Therefore, it has completely flopped now. Every person has personal nutritional needs. 

So a single narrative cannot fit all diet plans. Some people are completely fine with eating eggs daily. The remaining experienced only a minor increase in cholesterol. 

According to the American College of Cardiology, “Over a four-month period, cholesterol levels were similar among people who ate fortified eggs most days of the week compared with those who didn’t eat eggs.” 

Therefore, Dr. Ovadia suggested making a decision after a personal evaluation rather than following the trend. He advised that “Eggs are not the enemy. Understand your own health profile before cutting out nutrient-rich foods.”
