Dr. Charlotte Brakenridge stated that “Those using the fixed ratio had greater reductions in pain and reported additional benefits such as lowered levels of stress and improved concentration.” He further added that “Both prescribed and self-prescribed ratios were effective at reducing lower back pain after three months.”

The 30:15 Ratio That Changes Everything
Although we all go through sit-stand exercises throughout our day, it’s not calculated. New research has set an ideal sit-stand ratio that supports our bodies in every way. It has excellent results in mental sharpness, weight management, and overall body function.
The 30:15 rule means that every thirty minutes of sitting should be compensated with fifteen minutes of standing. The trial results showed that people who tried this rule experienced a more focused, fresher mind for a full day. Greater back pain relief and a strengthened spinal cord are other effects of this ratio. It is better than any self-guided movement.
According to the Applied Ergonomics Journal, “The fixed 30:15 sit-stand ratio led to a 1.33-point reduction in worst lower back pain and a 0.83-point reduction in average pain.” Their research further states that “Participants in the fixed-ratio group showed improvements in job stress, concentration, and presenteeism.”
Griffith University emphasized that “Altering our posture regularly between sitting and standing (recommended to move after sitting for 30 minutes) has many benefits, including reducing the risks of fatigue, chronic diseases, improved weight management, and reducing the risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders.”

According to some research, over 83% of office workers experience back pain each year. A simple time-based habit is easy to adopt and has been proven more beneficial than any back pain treatment. The BeUpstanding trial successfully reduced worker sitting time in a large sample of workers.”
