Slimming with Seeds: Cumin Curry Spice Fights Fat

A recent study published on 8 November suggested that cumin curry plays a strong role in controlling obesity and blood lipids. If complemented with a healthy diet and moderate exercise, the cumin curry extract just does a fantastic job. The research is a bigger breakthrough in the weight loss industry, which is flooded with unsafe chemical pills, artificial enzymes, and hormones.

Cumin curry has remained a healthy spice and medicinal ingredient throughout history in all types of homeopathic medicine, with excellent results. Some religions, like Islam, also emphasize the benefits and call it Habbat al-Barakah (the “blessed seed”). It is said by Prophet Muhammad SAW that  “Cumin seed is a remedy for every disease except death.”

Dr. Axe, a nutrition expert, says, “The black cumin plant has been grown for centuries for its aromatic and flavorful seeds that can be used as a culinary spice or as an herbal medicine.” MDPI Journal emphasizes that “Black cumin seed (Nigella sativa) has therapeutic potential in inflammatory disorders, with promising molecular mechanisms involving antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pathways.”

The Science of Fat Blocking

The Science of Fat Blocking

Adipogenesis is the process of fat cell production in our bodies, and cumin directly targets this process and disrupts it. It increases energy production in the body by preventing the storage of food in fat cells and allowing it to be used immediately. It helps the body remain more active and increases daily calorie expenditure.

Cumin clinical trials show that the seeds lower triglycerides, ultimately reducing the transport of fat cells in the body. Triglycerides act as a carrier force, serving as a lipoprotein particle that helps transport fatty acids. However, when they decrease in the body, it means the body is no longer able to store fat cells in specific areas, such as the hips, neck, cheeks, and so on.

The cumin extract has a clear impact on reducing LDL and cholesterol levels in the body. It also raises the HDL or good cholesterol levels. High LDL levels raise cholesterol levels in the body, leading to plaque formation and severe heart issues. On the other hand, HDL is just the body’s garbage collector, and more HDL means a cleaner body.

Weight and Heart Health Benefits

Cumin downregulates gene expression, so even people with obese family genetics can also prevent weight gain by taking the herb regularly. It equally works for both total body and abdominal fat. It reduces the fat mass inthe overall body, supporting fat reduction at the cellular level.

Obesity disrupts the functioning of organs, the supply of all types of liquids, and the actions of enzymes and hormones. By halting new fat cell formation, cumin improves body function, helping the brain interpret accurate signals and respond accordingly. It’s actually a natural aid against obesity-related issues, but it also treats skin, hair, and eyesight issues.

Zilpah Sheikh stated that “Black seed oil is extracted from these seeds. Capsules of the oil may be found in health food stores and pharmacies, and it is often consumed for various health benefits.”

An international journal for health and medical research confirmed that “Black seed herb (Nigella sativa L.) is considered a nutraceutical herb, well-known among health-conscious individuals due to its wide range of benefits that attract curiosity not only from discerning individuals who value their health but also from scientific and pharmaceutical industries.”

Similarly, Melissa Nieves reviews that “Research has shown that Nigella sativa has antihypertensive, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and other beneficial properties. Given its broad scope of uses, proponents regard it as one of the most significant medicinal plants ever discovered.”

Research also shows that diabetic patients can also see significant improvements by consuming a moderate amount of cumin for a few weeks. However, those with BP issues should consult their physician before taking cumin because of its hot nature. This is a simple and accessible supplement that can substitute the expensive branded products in weight management.
